quick start
sign in, make a canvas, wire a picture into a model, run it and share the result in about five minutes.
You will make a canvas, put a picture on it, wire the picture into an AI model, run it and share the board. Nothing here needs a pixie.
before you start
- An ixi account. ixi is invite-only for now. If you have not been let in yet, step 1 shows you the waiting page and ixi emails you when you are in.
- A picture on your computer to start from.
- Credits in your organization. A model run spends them, and a run is blocked when the balance is empty. Billing lives in the organization settings; see billing and credits.
make it
-
Sign in. Open the sign-in page and press Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub. These are the only two ways in. If your account is not approved yet, you land on a page that says you're on the list with pending approval; press leave the line to sign out, and wait for the email.
-
Set up your organization. The first time in, ixi asks you to Set up your organization. Type an Organization name; the org-slug fills itself and is the address pixies in your organization get email at (
name.slug@ixi.so). Press Create organization. If someone invited you, a Pending invitations list shows instead with a Join button. See members and roles. -
Make a canvas. On the dashboard, press New canvas, name it in the Name your canvas box and press Create. The empty canvas opens.
-
Add a picture. Press the + on the dock at the bottom and choose Image. An empty image node appears with an Upload button, or drop a file on the node. You can also drop a picture straight onto the canvas, or paste one with <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>V</kbd>.
-
Add a model. Press + again and choose Models. Search with upscale or background, or use the tabs (Image Gen, Video Gen, Upscalers, Vectorizers, Background Removers, 3D Modelers), and click a model card. Its node lands on the canvas with one row per input.
-
Wire them. Drag from the picture node's handle on its right edge to the model's image input row on its left edge. The wire only snaps to an input that takes an image. If you drag a wire off an input and let go on empty canvas, ixi offers to create a node for it.
-
Run it. Fill any other inputs, then press Let's go! at the bottom of the model node. The button reads its going... for a moment after you press it. The result appears in the node's tray when the run finishes.
-
Look at the result. Right-click a tray tile for its menu: Add to canvas pulls it out as its own node, ready to wire into the next model; Pin keeps it forever (unpinned results age out past 100); Open full size opens it in a new tab. See generations.
-
Share it. Press the three dots at the top right, then Share…. Pick Organization to give everyone in your org access, or add a teammate by email with a role. See sharing.
Share… lives in the canvas menu.
what just happened
You made a canvas, and every thing on it is a node. The picture node's output is typed as an image, the model's input is typed as an image, so the wire was allowed. The run produced a result that stays in the model node's tray, wired or not. Sharing set who can open the canvas.
