generations

every result a model makes is kept in the node's runs table, where you can pin it, reuse it, or put it on the canvas as its own node.

A generation is one result from a model: a picture, a clip, a sound, a 3D file or some text. Every run on a model node adds one, and the node keeps them in a Runs table that hangs below it.

read the runs table

Each row is one set of inputs. Runs made with the same inputs share a row, so running again adds a result to the row instead of a new row.

  • The first columns show the inputs that differ between rows, with prompt first. Up to five columns are shown; the rest open in the expanded row.
  • Results shows up to three small tiles, then a count such as +4. A tile marked err is a failed run.
  • A spinner and "working…" mean the run is in progress.
  • The newest activity sits at the top. Use Search runs… to filter once the table grows.

Click the Results cell to expand the row. You see the remaining inputs, an error message if a run failed, and a grid of larger tiles.

look closer at a result

Hover a tile for a preview card: the picture, a muted loop for video, a player for audio, or the text itself, plus the model name and time. The card carries three shortcuts: Canvas, Chat (when a pixie chat is open) and an open-full-size button.

run again

The play button at the end of a row runs the model again with that row's exact inputs ("Run again with these inputs"). The trash button deletes that row's results.

pin what you want to keep

Right-click a result for its menu:

A pinned row shows a star. Pinned results are kept forever. Unpinned ones age out: each node keeps its newest 100 unpinned results, and older ones are dropped as new ones arrive. Pin the ones you'd miss.

put a result on the canvas

Add to canvas (or the small square-plus on a tile) creates a new node to the right of the model node:

  • a picture, video, audio or file result becomes a file node, sized to fit
  • a text-only result becomes a text node
  • the node keeps a note of the model and inputs that made it, in its info panel

From there it is an ordinary node. Wire it into anything, or move it into a zone. See files and media.

feed other nodes

You don't have to pull a result out first. A model node's output handle, on its right edge, carries its latest result. Wire it into another model's picture or text input, a sandbox, or a process, and it flows on. When a run finishes, the next node in line starts by itself. See model nodes.

limits & good to know

  • Stored results survive closing the tab and reopening the canvas.
  • Results are copied into ixi's own storage when they arrive, so they don't expire the way a provider's temporary link would. A result that can't be saved shows as an error rather than a broken picture.
  • Deleting a result removes it from the table; a node you already put on the canvas stays.
  • Process and pipeline nodes keep their results in a similar tray, grouped by run. See runs.
