dashboard
where your projects, pipelines and reusable parts live, and how to create, find, copy and delete them.
The dashboard is the page you land on after signing in. It lists everything you can open, split into five tabs, and it is where you make a new canvas.
the five tabs
The tabs sit under the page title. The tab you are on is in the address (/dashboard?tab=pipelines), so you can link to it.
| tab | what it lists |
|---|---|
| Projects | top-level canvases: yours and your organization's. Runs and process templates are not listed; you reach those from the project they belong to. |
| Pipelines | pipeline canvases that chain processes. See build a pipeline. |
| Library | reusable parts: assets, tools, and sandboxes, designs and 3D models saved to the library. |
| Public library | things anyone made public. |
| Shared with me | canvases other people gave you access to. |
Projects, Pipelines and Library show what belongs to the organization you are in. Switch organizations with the switcher at the top left, and the lists change with it.
Each card shows the cover image (or an icon), the name, a type badge (project, pipeline, asset, tool, sandbox, model3d or design) and its visibility: a lock for private, a people icon for organization, a globe for public. Newest changes come first.
make something new
- New canvas (Projects, Library, Public library and Shared with me) asks for a name in the Name your canvas box, default Untitled canvas, and opens the empty canvas when you press Create.
- New pipeline replaces it on the Pipelines tab and asks for a name the same way, default Untitled pipeline.
- New asset makes a library asset: a canvas of reusable files such as a logo set. It asks for a name, default Untitled asset.
- An empty tab offers the same action as a button: Create your first project, Create your first pipeline or Create your first asset.
You can also press <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>K</kbd> and choose New canvas or New asset from the palette.
open, duplicate, delete
Click a card to open it. Move the pointer over a card and ixi starts loading the canvas, so it opens fast.
Two buttons appear in a card's top-right corner on hover:
- Duplicate makes a deep copy named "<name> copy". Everything the canvas contains is copied with new ids: nested canvases, tools and assets. Run history that belongs to the original is not copied, so the copy starts clean.
- Delete asks Delete canvas? first. Deleting removes the canvas and its version history and can't be undone.
find things
The Search… box in the top bar opens the command palette. It searches every canvas, asset, tool, sandbox, design and model you can reach, ranked by how well the name matches, whether you pinned it with the star (★), whether you opened it recently and whether it is yours. Filter pills narrow it to Projects, Assets, Tools, Sandboxes, Designs or Models. Use the arrow keys and <kbd>Enter</kbd>, and <kbd>Esc</kbd> to close. The palette is also on every canvas; see navigation and shortcuts.
the top bar
- the organization switcher
- Search… (<kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>K</kbd>)
- the help button (Help & docs), which opens these docs
- the xixi button: a sleeping pixie sprite that wakes when you point at it. See ask xixi.
- your account menu
limits & good to know
- Only top-level canvases are projects. A process, a run, or a sandbox's inner workspace has no card of its own.
- Personal canvases that belong to no organization show under every organization you switch to.
- Clicking any card opens its canvas; an asset opens as a canvas of its files.
- The palette lists at most 50 matches.
