postie

draft social posts in a table, schedule them to your connected accounts, and watch their status and numbers.

A Postie node is a table of posts. Each row is one post: the accounts it goes to, the pictures or videos, the caption and when to publish. A resident pixie, the postie, fills in rows for you and submits them when you say so.

add a postie

Postie lives on a pipeline canvas, where finished results are grouped and published. Open the Add nodes, models & assets menu in the dock and choose Postie. A postie pixie appears with the node. See build a pipeline if you haven't made one.

connect accounts

Click Accounts in the node's header. Each platform ixi can post to has a Connect button that opens the platform's sign-in. Connected handles show next to it, and Refresh reloads the list.

Which platforms appear comes from the posting service, so it can change; a platform that isn't fully live carries a small status tag beside its icon.

Accounts belong to your organization: every member sees them, and other orgs never do. The same list is under Org settings → Social, where org admins can disconnect an account; see members and roles.

draft a post

Click Add row on the Scheduled tab. A draft row has:

ColumnWhat you do
Platformspick one or more connected accounts; one post fans out to all of them
Assetsclick the add button (Add an image or video) to pick a node from the canvas or upload a file; add as many as you like
Captionclick to open a full-size editor; it counts characters and warns past Instagram's 2,200
Schedulepick a date and time, or leave Now — pick a time empty to post now
Statusthe row's state

Search the rows with Search posts….

post or schedule

The draft's button reads Schedule when a time is set and Post when it isn't. Posting needs at least one account and either an asset or a caption.

A scheduled row has two icon buttons: the calendar icon (tooltip Reschedule) moves it, and the cross (tooltip Cancel — back to an editable draft, nothing publishes) pulls it back. Remove a draft with the bin icon.

status

StatusMeaning
draftnot submitted
pending, publishingon its way
scheduledwaiting for its time
publishedlive; each platform gets a link on the row
partiallive on some accounts, failed on others
failedhover the warning icon for the reason; the retry icon (tooltip Retry) resubmits

While any row is pending, scheduled or publishing, the node checks again every minute. Close the tab and the posts still go out at their time.

metrics

The Metrics tab lists published posts with impressions, reach, likes, comments, shares, saves, views and engagement. Refresh reloads them. Numbers appear once posts are published, and which ones depend on what the platform reports.

ask the postie

Click the pixie chip in the header to chat. Ask it, for example, to schedule the selected images across two accounts.

  • It lists your connected accounts, drafts rows, and shows them in the table.
  • It never writes captions or makes images. It produces and posts what you give it; use a regular pixie or a model for content.
  • It asks you to approve before it publishes or schedules anything.
  • It can also cancel, reschedule, check status and read a post's metrics.

If a platform you want isn't connected, the postie tells you to connect it with Accounts; it can't do that for you.

limits & good to know

  • Charge per submitted post: a flat fee, $0.20 by default, set per deployment. Each charge shows in Usage; see billing and credits.
  • Without a posting service key on the deployment, Accounts says social posting isn't configured.
  • The caption editor counts characters but only Instagram's cap is flagged.
